How You Can Help

Parham Airfield Museum is committed to preserving the past for the future and is dependent on fundraising and donations. There are a number of ways that you can help. 

The objective is to secure a long-term future for the museum, building on the work started by the small band of determined enthusiasts in 1976. Every donation, large or small, will help us in this endeavour.

 

Become a Volunteer

As a charity, Parham Airfield Museum relies on its team of dedicated volunteers to help it run and thrive. 

A few hours of your time could make all the difference at Parham Airfield Museum, there are all sorts of things we need help with. 

We welcome new team members for roles such as:

- helping staff the Museum speaking to members of the public and safeguarding the exhibits. The Museum is often praised for its friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. We would welcome you to our team. 

- working in the tearoom- serving drinks and light refreshments and manning the gift shop, washing up, clearing tables. 

- working behind the scenes at our regular work parties to improve exhibitions and displays, continue vital restoration or assist with maintenance and improvement to the buildings. 

- helping maintain the gardens- grass cutting, weeding, planting flowers etc 

- helping write newsletter articles

- assisting with curatorial, library or administrative tasks

We like to meet with potential volunteers, discuss what they can offer and explain our processes before offering a period of informal training and support.  Those who are successful and active, as most are, may then be recommended to the trustees as voting members of the museum.

If you live too far away from he museum to offer physical assistance, perhaps you could help distribute some museum leaflets to local tourist attractions to help promote our lovely museum. 

 

The Museum now has a Paypal account. We would welcome donations via Paypal as bank charges for paying in cheques (especially US cheques that need converting) continue to rise.

To pay via Paypal please click the donate button above which will take you to the PayPal website, then click "SEND MONEY NOW", enter our registered Paypal email address parhamairfield@yahoo.co.uk along with the amount you would like to donate, click "CONTINUE", then click "SEND MONEY". Please remember that we do not have to pay any charges to receive donations sent to "Friends & Family" but the Museum would have to pay a 3.5% fee if you click "Pay for an Item or Service".

We would very much hope that members will continue to support the Museum by paying subscriptions; the work here continues and we are investing heavily in the Museum to modernise its facilities, enhance the visitor experience and prolong the memories of the 390th & BRO.
